“Tide Pool Morning”

Location: Cape Kiwanda, Oregon (2019)

As dory boats fish the channel between the rock and the cape, the tide pools of Cape Kiwanda slowly reveal themselves during low tide on a summer’s morning in 2019.

The sky was filled with individual clouds that caught the edge of early morning light. Waves were calm – they left a shimmer of water that reflected the cape.

Water dripped from freshly exposed mollusks as tiny crabs scurried to find shelter.
Today the tide would become exceptionally low.

Outside visitors would soon be approaching.
