“Tide Pool Galaxy”

Location: Cape Kiwanda, Oregon (2019)

Moonlight from a waning gibbous adds illumination as the Milky Way aligns behind Haystack Rock.

While I couldn’t see very well in the dark, my camera could.

(It could pick out even the most subtle of light.)

Sunset had occurred four hours prior, yet its faded glow could still be seen during this long exposure.  

Also visible is a ship on the horizon.

Conditions were nice.

Waves were gentle and the wind calm. People were on the beach enjoying bonfires and some were even exploring the cape. But I was alone at the tide pools.
