”Stiller Vineyards”

Location: Dayton, Oregon (2020)

The granary of Stoller Family Estates is framed by autumn turned vineyards on a blue-sky afternoon in early November of 2020.

From the side of the fencing, I carefully worked my tripod and camera – lining up the “Stoller Vineyards” sign so it would slot both in between the trees and the leaves on the grapevines.

As I was doing this, cars would occasionally drive by me. I wondered what they thought of me standing along the side of the road by the fencing with my camera and tripod so carefully positioned. None of them honked or made a comment. I was free to concentrate on aligning my composition.

The sky was partly obscured by wispy clouds (some of which are visible next to the granary in the photography). Those clouds would occasionally block the sun. Just when I had the photograph, a wispy cloud passed by.
