“Delicate Arch (2)”

Location: Arches National Park, Utah (2018)

Delicate Arch radiates with a reddish afterglow just after sunset on a September evening.

After a beautiful and cloud free sunset, the orange glow from Delicate Arch had dissipated, but not the beauty of the moment.

The long line of selfie takers was finally coming to an end. Photographers were busy putting their cameras away.

I took another exposure and created this photograph.

The result is of an image that I like the best out of the three in the “Delicate Arch” series:

• The soft pastel like colors.
• The lower contrast between the light and dark tones.
• The glow on the mountain range in the background.

It all adds to a subliminal beauty that is often unnoticed and ignored.

But I don’t blame those other photographers for packing up early….

The 3 mile hike back to the car in the dark wasn’t fun!
