“Horsetail Falls (Autumn)”

Location: Columbia River Gorge, Oregon (2019)

Autumn colors at Horsetail Falls blow vigorously in the wind produced by the spray of the waterfall.

The spray from the plunging falls produced its own rainstorm that funneled downstream and onto my camera. (Lens cloths were in high demand!)

Waiting perhaps just one more day and those leaves would likely have been all blown off!

This is one of my favorite waterfalls to photograph. Everyone takes a picture along the side of the road where you can access the pool of water at the base of the plunging falls.

Here, where I took this photo, you can have the place to yourself. With the thunderous sound of the waterfall drowning out all ambient noise, your stress disappears.
