Purple clouds roll through as a storm clears during a minus tide along a reflective Cannon Beach.
The time was 2:30AM. I had gotten about 2 hours of sleep – my mind was going through my itinerary. Depart by 3AM. Arrive at 4:30. Setup the camera no later than 4:50. Wait for the sun to illuminate the clouds. An easy enough schedule, but there’s no way of knowing how exactly the weather will play out. It’s the unknowns that make me restless before a morning shoot.
This morning, conditions co-operated. Clear skies to the northwest meant the sun was free to illuminate the clouds gently blowing across the ocean toward the coastline.
Combined with low tide, Cannon Beach’s Haystack Rock appears to float through palatial skies of magenta.
