“Wind River”

Location: Highway 26, Dubois, Wyoming (2019)

The Wind River meanders in front of badlands to the east of Dubois, Wyoming on a storm filled spring day.

Photographing from the side of the road with barbwire fencing inches from my camera and tripod, I had pulled a U-turn to come back to this location while on my way to Grand Teton National Park from Fort Collins, Colorado.

One of those rare and beautiful moments a photographer hopes to capture. Completely off-the-cuff and unexpected. While driving, I always keep an eye out for interesting spots, especially in a place a sbeautiful as Wyoming.

As cars zoomed by along Hwy 26, I found myself deep in thought as I tried to capture the beauty of a location that normally is full of sun and earth tones.
