“Upper South Falls”

Location: Silver Falls State Park, Oregon (2019)

Plunging 177 ft, Upper South Falls flows over layers of basaltic rock that forms much of the geology of western Oregon.

Arriving on an overcast autumn day during the week, the park was full of visitors. Avoiding the most popular photographic locations, I chose a spot along the trail that afforded me some privacy.

With my tripod and camera ready, I waited for the right moment when people were out of the shot.
