“Tidal Vortex”

Location: Cape Kiwanda, Oregon (2019)

Water swirls around a rock, in the tide pools of Cape Kiwanda, as it recedes with the ebbing tide.

This ankle-deep water ferociously pulled at me and washed away the sand under my neoprene boots. My tripod buckled under the shifting sand.

As with “Baker Beach Splash”, I had to constantly shift and reset my position after each receding wave.

But I was having fun.

The water was symbolically washing away any stress.
