“Storm Pools (2)”

Location: McPhillips Beach, Oregon (2019)

Pools of water form a tapestry of texture along the Oregon coast.

McPhillips Beach in particular can become pockmarked with pools of ocean water during the winter months.

Accessible by car, it can be difficult to find an area that’s free of tire marks, but on a stormy day during the week in the middle of winter, one doesn’t have to search far for an unspoiled beach.

Seagulls were exploring the pools, and the storm had calmed.

But rain seemed as if it could fall at any time. You could even see it sweeping across the ocean toward the shore.
