“Fractured Coast”

Location: Cape Kiwanda, Oregon (2019)

Light from the afternoon sun backlights the ocean turning it green while the weathered sandstone that make up Cape Kiwanda loom in the distance.

This less visited side of Cape Kiwanda has beauty all to its own.

Taken during the summer when the sun is at a higher and more northern latitude, I was intrigued with how the lighting outlined the sandstone.

Also, too, I observed how the waves washing ashore would turn iridescent green as the light caught them.

With the timing just right, I caught the breaking of a wave which resembled the curvature in the arch of the sandstone.
